Travis Allinson has worked on commercial deep water recovery projects around the world. Travis is also a commercial diving instructor specializing in Mixed Gas, Deep Diving and Salvage Diving at the Commercial Diving Academy.

Travis Allinson - Commercial Deep Water Recovery Specialist

Travis Allinson started SCUBA diving at the age of 12 using the left over air from his uncle’s SCUBA tanks.

 After joining the Marine Corps he took a civilian SCUBA class in Okinawa, Japan and officially started his passion for diving.

In 1995 he became a commercial diver and started his career in the Gulf of Mexico and was lucky enough to work on many different types of offshore projects which took him to various locations. Some of Travis’s Job functions included: oversee all aspects of diving operations, find bid and plan projects, order and track materials & equipment, oversee decompression chambers, oversee the maintenance and repair of all equipment, train divers, boat, crane and heavy equipment operations, hire train & terminate divers, etc. In addition Travis is also a ROV technician and pilot.

In 1999 he came inland to work and broadened his experience with the varying jobs that inland divers do in and out of the water. Travis is trained, experienced and has operated various dredge equipment for smaller hand held units to large commercial dredging such as cutter dredges & claim bucket dredges - units which are used to clear ports and harbors.

In 2004 he started working for a salvage company and had the privilege of being the Assistant Project Manager / Superintendent on the 24 million USS Oriskany remediation/reefing project as well as being the Project Manager / Salvage Master for hurricane Katrina survey & clean up throughout the Gulf States removing sunken & stranded vessels.

Travis is also a commercial diving instructor specializing in Mixed Gas, Deep Diving and Salvage Diving at the Commercial Diving Academy.

During his career he has also continued to expand his Scuba certification to the level of instructor and is working his way through the Technical diving levels.

With over 15 years of experience in the commercial diving and marine industries, his strong leadership skills, mechanical background and quick learning ability have given him the tools to get jobs done. His experience from operating boats, cranes, and heavy equipment to topside and underwater burning and welding allow him effectively manage projects and fill in where necessary. His strongest assets, however, are his positive attitude and people skills.
