sunken treasure from sites around the globe. John is perhaps best known for his work recovering sunken treasure from the famous Vigo Bay shipwrecks and his book, The Treasure Divers Guide.

Kip Wagner who was president of the Real Eight Company which is famous for their tremendous amount of sunken treasure which they recovered said this about John's book, "This book should not have been named The Treasure Divers Guide, it should have been named The Treasure Divers Bible, as it is one of the most essential tools a treasure hunter needs if he wants to be successful. My associates and I found it especially useful in properly identifying and dating artifacts and the shipwreck themselves. In the are where the 1715 Fleet was lost, there are also many other shipwrecks of other periods and we would have lost  a great deal of time and money if we had not been able to weed out the right wrecks that we knew were of the 1715 Treasure Fleet and carrying great amounts of treasure.

This book is considered a "Bible" in our industry.
Everyone in the treasure-hunting business owes John Potter a great deal of gratitude for producing this book." - Kip Wagner, Chairman of the Real Eight Company

I was luck to have been able to personally get to know John and consider him as one of my friends and role models in our industry. My mentors in our industry and "Mom" and "Dad", Bob and Margaret Weller knew him well and he would come to the house to visit and also visit as a speaker for their seminars on Lost and Sunken Treasure.

When I last visited with him, a few months ago he was still vibrant and full of energy. John was always happy, outgoing and extremely friendly. John was also always supportive and enthusiastic about expeditions to recover lost and sunken treasure. I consider it an honor that John Potter's son and grandson are a part of the Treasure Expeditions Team and have joined us on some of our expeditions for treasure.

John Potter wrote several books which are a "must have" for anyone in our industry. Some of his legendary books are, The Treasure Divers Guide, The Treasure Divers of Vigo Bay, Treasure Hunters and Treasure....How and Where To Find It.

John Potter will be missed but he and my "father" Bob Weller will always be a part of us. They are both looking out for all of us in our industry and leading the way - Bradley "Brad" Williamson
