This is the first Gold Doubloon that I found. I found it when we were working on the Spanish galleon Nuestra Senora de las Nieves which sank in 1715. I was diving with Bob "Frogfoot" Weller. I saw the coin about the same time that I got a reading with the detector. Gold never tarnishes underwater and it was glittering brilliantly as I reached out for it. I showed it to Bob and then went up to the boat and It was a 2 Escudo dated 1704. It was the first dive and the first hole of the first day of the season.
